Obituary

Tyler P. Attardo, 40, of Granby CT, passed away on December 1, 2019; Heaven gained an Angel. Tyler was born November 8, 1979 to Kathleen (Tedeschi) and Peter Attardo.

Tyler graduated from Granby Memorial High School in 1998 as an award-winning student and co-captain of the baseball team (#7) and then studied Construction Management at CCSU. Twenty-three years ago, Tyler started Concrete Creations and Construction Services, LLC and was well-known for his high-quality stampcrete designs. Largely because of Tyler’s work ethic, love for people and infectious smile, many of his customers became his friends.

Tyler’s greatest treasure was his relationship with his mother; they would talk for hours sharing their thoughts, hopes and concerns. Knowing he is in a place of tranquility at peace, brings serenity to his mother’s heart and soul. He and his father were lifetime members of the Bloomfield Fish and Game Club. Tyler was never without his beloved dog Buddy; the two were inseparable, whether going to work, the beach, for a hunt or just for a ride. He and his father founded the High Idlers of the Notch Car Club in Suffield, CT to foster their shared passion for older American cars. The club was formed on a platform of preserving the history of American cars and giving back to the community.

Tyler and Nicole grew up with a special bond; soulmates of the heart. Recently he installed a nautical compass in her yard, a reminder that he is always guiding her. They relied on each other for support, laughter, dinner dates, and as Jace’s Godfather. He was Jace’s cool Uncle and spent time whenever he could, filling in with lessons, rides, fishing and coaching his Little League team, always with a handful of m&m’s. Tyler and Aaron shared laughs and stories together but their generosity went beyond, often collaborating on projects.

Ty lived his life passionately, spending his summers on Congamond Lakes and his winters in the mountains. He enjoyed boating, fishing, wakeboarding and his love for surfing brought him year-round to Point Judith, RI. He experienced life to the fullest: catching a wave, shredding a trail or burning rubber; he lived in the moment. He often said that while he was on a wave or a mountain, none of his worries could catch him.

Ty enriched the lives of everyone who knew him. His smile would light up the room and his magnetic, charming personality was unrivaled. His passing leaves many people feeling as if they have lost their best friend. “He gave more than he took; he was the guy to go to.”

Tyler is survived by his loving parents Kathleen and Peter Attardo of Granby; his devoted sister Nicole (Attardo) LaBarre, husband Aaron LaBarre and nephew Jace LaBarre of West Suffield. He was preceded by his grandparents Joyce and Vincent Tedeschi, Doris and Corrado Attardo and his uncle Ronald Tedeschi.
