Obituary for Alice Lillian Gardner (Philipp)

Alice Lillian (Philipp) Gardner, 81, of Feeding Hills, beloved wife of Dale W. Gardner, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2020 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born on October 13, 1938 in Coli, Columbia daughter of the late Alice Philipp and Julius Winkler.

Alice immigrated to the United States as a young child, and attended schools all over the country, graduated from Houghton College in Maine, obtaining her undergraduate degree from Temple University, and her Master’s degree in speech pathology from Boston University. She was employed by the State of Connecticut as a speech consultant for over 25 years. She also wrote a book ‘An Old Wives Tale’ an autobiography.

Alice and husband Dale’s passion has been leading the Springfield Youth Program “All to Jesus Bring” for over 17 years. Alice was a firm believer in The Lord, and had a desire to move to Heaven to be reunited with long lost friends and family.

Alice is survived by her loving husband Dale W. Gardner, two sons Dequan and Goshen Gardner, and her adopted daughter and guiding light Tasha Medich.

All Funeral Services are private and burial will take place in Agawam Veteran Cemetery, Agawam.
